I Can't Give Up

I’m starting to feel pretty frustrated. This is harder than I anticipated. I’ve never been one to be easily beat, But I’m close to admitting to my defeat.

Still I keep giving it one more day.

They Called Him Mr. Cook

I’LL START WITH ME

We all need to make changes
To be what God wants us to be.
And after serious inventory
I think I’ll start with me.

Before I go and pass judgment
On what someone else has done.
I’ll take a look at my own past.
It sure wasn’t a perfect one.

Then when I go to open my mouth
To spread some news I heard.
I’ll stop and think of what gossip does
Before I utter a word.

Before I look down my nose at you
Giving my thoughts and advice,
I‘ll think back to things I did
That weren’t very nice.

I have a box full of past mistakes
And failures to sort through.
And I’ve learned many a lesson
On things I must never do.

So before you voice your opinion
Telling someone else how to be.
You might want to do what I did.
I decided to start with me.

I CAN’T GIVE UP

I’m starting to feel pretty frustrated.

And maybe I should admit as a starter,
That I could try just a little bit harder.

Nobody gives you anything free.
If you think about it I’m sure you’ll agree,
That whether or not you find success
It matters most that you did your best.

At any rate I’m not done yet.
Things will start to happen any minute I bet.
I know my God is on my side.
I can’t lose with Him as my guide.
