"Felecia surprised me with a beautiful framed poem (customized poetry) for my wedding. She took all the wonderful things I had shared with her about my husband-to-be and wrote a poem from me to him. We were both touched by how she was able to express my feelings so movingly."

I Can't Give Up

I’m starting to feel pretty frustrated. This is harder than I anticipated. I’ve never been one to be easily beat, But I’m close to admitting to my defeat.

Still I keep giving it one more day.
I know soon things will go my way...Click Here to Read Poem

Here I Am Again Lord

Here I come pleading again Lord.
Begging for your forgiveness once more.
I made you a promise this morning,
But I messed up, just like times before.

I promised to try and do better
With things that I say and I do.
But as soon as I get around others,
I’ve broken my promise to you.

On my way into work I face traffic.
Soon as somebody makes a wrong move,
I open my mouth and words come out,
That I know you would never approve.

I try to steer clear of the gossip.
I know passing judgment is wrong.
When someone ask for my opinion,
Seems my tongue has a mind of it’s own.

Lord, I’m not here just giving excuses.
I know that I’m fully to blame.
I’m just asking you to be patient.
Help me these bad habits to change.

I know that I’ve caused you concern Lord.
I’ve been working on this for awhile.
Still, I know when I ask I’m forgiven.
I know you still call me your child.

Introduction

We come face to face with so many people from day to day. It’s interesting to me to see all of the diverse personalities. Some are very easy to get along with; others take a little extra prayer. I’m sure we’ve all faced that.

Still, I’ve been working on being just a little less judgmental and more forgiving when I’m faced with a personality that rubs me the wrong way. I don’t know what has happened in that person’s life to bring them to this point. It’s not easy, but it’s one of life’s challenges. Those thoughts led to the poem below: “Just Being Me”

Just Being Me

I may seem a little different to you
Because I don’t act the way you do.
You can’t seem to deal with that, I see.
But that’s your problem. I’m just being me.

If you don’t care for the things I say
You don’t have to listen anyway.
There’s certainly other places you can be.
I’m minding my business and just being me.

My demeanor is not always the best.
Sometimes I’m in a bad mood I guess.
Still those who know me would agree.
It’s nothing personal; I’m just being me.

I don’t always feel like smiling at you.
Surely I can be different if I want to.
I’m certainly not some rarity.
I’m trying to live my life just being me.

We’re all different in our own way.
That makes the world unique, I say.
Above all else I hope God will see,
I mean no harm; I’m just being me.
